The Vision Board: How it can Spark Your Success

Published on

How often do you watch a movie, read a book, an article or simply catch something on television that highlights the transformation of an individual? That showcases difficulties had by someone who not only rose above to find success, but became something much more than who they initially were? We've all seen these inspirational stories of rags to riches or overweight to in-shape, but isn't it your turn to go from watching those stories to becoming those stories?

How do I Become those Stories?

When understanding how to achieve fulfillment and success, you'll find that those who live it have a very specific thing in common: theirmentality. Positive thinking, visualisation and right intention are strong motivators for highly successful actors like Jim Carey and Will Smith. But there are many hugely successful people who aren't celebrities who use these tools to simply live a happy, healthy life. One of those tools which can bear great fruit on the path to fulfillment and good health is utilizing a vision board.

What is a Vision Board?

A vision board is a physical collage that spotlights specific quotes, pictures, or related motivational/inspirational items. The goal isn't to necessarily just pinpoint what you want in life, but more so, to highlight who it is you want to become in life (check out this Business Insider article for a great "how to" in making a board).

Vision Board Ideas

In the world of fitness, the obvious go to are pictures of body builders or physiques that pique your interest. Bodies that you feel jive and vibrate with your own physical goals. But it doesn't have to stop there. Add quotes from those who inspire you, or comparison pictures from when you started your fitness regimen to the present day. Continue switching the present day photo once a month to really highlight your progress.

A vision board can even be used for business aspirations, relationships, academic goals; anything that requires some inspiration. After a long day, it is an encouraging and deeply rewarding feeling to look up at your vision board to see how far you've come, and how much of your vision actually became a reality.
